Students wrote the central idea highlighting the words balanced and healthy. They also related the word ‘balanced’ with the learner profile attribute. They further shared their understanding of health through discussion on the five factors of health (recreation, hygiene, rest, food and exercise)followed by group activity of making a picture collage using cut outs of fruits and vegetables in which they represented what it means to be healthy.
During their English classes students were welcomed with a fun ice- breaking activity ‘Snowball' in which they answered the questions like their favourite cuisine/hobby/place etc. They further enjoyed creating photoframes byillustrating themselves on a coloured sheetand pasted the photo frames in their respective cubbies for a sense of belongingness. Letter recognition was done through a task sheet about ‘secret message from their teacher'. Their understanding of letters sound & formation was done through ‘Fish bowl activity'. Students wrote upper and lower-case letters in the process journto make CVC words using the medial sound of vowels (a,e,i,o,u) assigned to their group. Each group presented the words made by them.
